Mošćenice is a small town high on a hill
overlooking the Adriatic Sea.  It dates from the 13th and 14th
          century.  See the history
          of the town

The village population is about 200, but the parish
church has about 1300 congregation.  The walled
town is very well preserved.  While being shown the
local museum with an olive grinder and press, we were treated to
brandy - as much as we wanted.

          The small one-room
school was built on the ruins of the castle tower.  Currently
the school has 5 students - one student in 1st grade and 4 students in
2nd grade.  In a few years the students will attend school in
Opatija.  We were allowed  inside the classroom to take
pictures and speak with the students.  They really enjoyed seeing
their pictures on the digital camera.

We walked on the one paved road overlooking the Adriatic
          Sea.

After a few hours we returned to Opatija
