Ouzoud
Northeast of Marrakech , across some more lush farmland, is
the largest market in Morocco at Atiaouilla. This souk
also had a large animal area along with food and many dry goods
for sale.
Since this was the prophet Mohammed's birthday, the
government offers free circumcisions. We passed many tents
set up as waiting areas for those wishing to have the service
performed.
We had to stop to see some
poppy fields and
cactus plants
I've never seen before. I still don't know the name, but
they look like brain coral.
One of the highlights of the entire trip is the
Cascades d'
Ouzoud. We started at the top of the waterfall and hiked
to the bottom of the 100 meters falls. I have so many
pictures that I divided them into the
upper falls and
lower falls.
Midway down the falls are the unique
Barbary
Apes. Also
have numerous pictures.
It was a couple of hours drive back to
Marrakech. For
the second time on the trip we were allowed to chose a
restaurant. I think we were all getting a little tired of
the tajine and hotel food. So we actually had a chance to
order from a menu - mine was spaghetti. I should have
ordered the tajine.
