Final Thoughts
Some things I ate for the first time: pigeon
tajine, camel meatballs, donkey, Berber pizza, truffles
(mixed with sand). Kirsten stuck to her vegan food.
Having henna designs and the whole process explained in
detail was a great experience.
Even though we live in the Sonoran Desert, we especially
enjoyed our three days in the Sahara Desert with the camping,
hiking and walking on the sand dunes. The long donkey ride
was also a first. Camel riding we did previously in Egypt.
Dental care - used acacia sticks to chew and pick teeth.
Most enjoyable aspects of the trip was meeting with the local
Berber families in the Sahara and medinas. The Berber people
were very open about discussing their lives, children and way of
life.
And of course our wedding on the way to Ouarzazate was an
experience not to be forgotten.
Thing not liked: squat toilet (no flusher, had to get
a scoop of water from a bucket to hopefully flush).
