Henry Walter

Henry Walter was born about 1868 in Pennsylvania.

In the 1870 census, Henry was born in Pennsylvania and 2 years old, living with his parents in Wilkes-Barre Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania.

In the 1880 census, Henry was 12 years old, living with his parents and 7 siblings in Lehman, Luzerne, Pennsylvania. He was attending school.

In the Wilkes-Barre City Directory 1889, Henry was living at 28 Lehigh Street.  He was working as a machinist.

 In Wilkes-Barre, 16 June 1897, Henry Walter, aged 19 years. Home corner of Lehigh St. and Hazel St.  Member St. Francis Pioneer Corps and St. Peters Society.  Survived by a daughter aged 2. Brothers and sisters: Philip, William, Mary, Fred, Lizzie, Mathias, Jacob, Peter, Susie, Frances and Gertrude. Burial in St. Nicholas Church, Darling St. Cemetery.  Cause of death was Consumption.

Comments:  Henry was listed on the 1870 census as being 2 years old.  On the 1880 census, he was listed as 12 years old.  So he was 29 years old at time of death.  He does not appear on the 1900 census, but the household of "Gotfrey" and Lena Walter list Marmie, born in Mar 1895 as grand-daughter living with them. 

Will:  273 of 1897.  Luzerne County Courthouse, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  Estate of Henry Walter died June 16, 1897, Intestate.  Letters to W.L. Raider with bond by Gottfried Walter.
