In the 1920 census, Frank was 53 years old, born in Germany, emigrated in 1874, and naturalized in 1908.  He was working as a carpenter.  He lived with his wife and 8 children at 226 South Sherman Street, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania.  He owned his home free of mortgage.

In the 1930 census, Frank was 64 years old.  He was living at 226 South Sherman Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  He was married at age 28 and now widowed.  He emigrated in 1883.  He was working as a cabinet maker in a mill.

Frank Henry Balz died 16 Jan 1942 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
