Taylor highway
from Eagle to Tok, Alaska.
It starts on the Alaskan Highway 12 miles southeast of Tok and
terminates in Eagle (where we started). It is
Milepost 160.
One interesting stop on the Taylor highway was
the town of Chicken. The area
close by is called
40 mile river – richest gold area.
Tailings are under
Taylor Highway used for the roadbed.
At Milepost 95.7, the Taylor Highway meets Top of the World Highway – a
winding, mostly gravel road that connects motorists with Dawson City,
79 miles to the east.
The
Taylor Highway finally ends at Tetlin
Junction 12 miles southeast of Tok on the
Alaskan Highway.
